Long-distance removals, done properly
A cross-country removal isn't the same beast as a local one. The van has to carry a bigger single load, the day is longer, and we have to know the road well enough that a diversion on the M8 doesn't derail the whole afternoon. Nationwide moves from Kilkenny run at least weekly — most often Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and up to Belfast — and they're priced as full-day jobs from one clear number.
Common cross-country routes include:
- Kilkenny → Dublin — 90 minutes each way, popular for graduate moves and IT-sector relocations
- Kilkenny → Cork — 2 hours each way, common for students returning south
- Kilkenny → Galway — 2h 30m each way, west-of-Ireland home moves
- Kilkenny → Limerick — 90 minutes each way
- Kilkenny → Sligo, Donegal, Belfast — planned as two-day jobs where distance demands it
What a nationwide removal price includes
Two of us, one van, one round trip. The quote covers the loading time in Kilkenny, the drive, unloading at the far end, and any short waits (up to 30 minutes total). Fuel, tolls and the day's labour are all in — there's no €per-mile creep and no fuel surcharge added after the fact.
- Full long-wheelbase Ford Transit — 2- to 3-bed household in one load
- Blankets, straps, corner protectors, sack truck
- Careful loading and unloading at both ends
- Live ETA updates by WhatsApp throughout the day
- Placement of every piece in the correct room at the destination
Typical nationwide pricing
- Kilkenny → Dublin (all zones): from €450
- Kilkenny → Cork: from €500
- Kilkenny → Galway: from €550
- Kilkenny → Limerick: from €400
- Kilkenny → Wexford / Waterford / Carlow / Laois: from €200 (short-distance)
- Kilkenny → Belfast: from €700 (long day)
- Any two-day nationwide move (Donegal, Kerry): quoted individually
One-way and round-trip pricing differs — for return runs (moving out of Cork back to Kilkenny in the same day, for example) we can offer a shared-load price for return-leg customers looking to save.
Two-day and specialist cross-country moves
Anything above 300 km one-way — Donegal, Kerry, some Kerry-to-Waterford runs — is usually planned as an overnight or a shared-load. That means load in Kilkenny on day one, drive and park up overnight, unload day two. Priced honestly and always agreed up-front.
For businesses moving offices between counties
Cross-county office relocations follow the same principle as household moves — one price, one day (or two), the same two lads. Weekend business relocations avoid downtime; a Friday-evening pack, a Saturday drive and a Sunday unload is a common shape.
Booking a nationwide move
Nationwide jobs deserve at least a week of notice so the day can be blocked properly. Ring 089 948 9185 or send a WhatsApp with both addresses, a rough inventory or short video, and preferred dates. You'll have a firm all-in price and the day held within a working day.
